REVISED CLUB RULES 2025/2026
ANGLERS FISH THE CLUB WATERS AT THEIR OWN RISK
LEAVE NO LITTER (OFFENDERS WILL BE BANNED)
- No fish are to be brought to or removed from the reservoir at any time.
- All anglers must be in possession of their membership card at all times, failure to produce membership card to a club official will result in the member being asked to leave
- Any member shall produce their Club Card and Identification Card at the request of any Bailiff, Official or Member of the Committee. There shall be the following classes of membership: Adult Member (Full Year) - Entitled to vote at a General Meeting (AGM or EGM). Adult Member (Full Year) Concessionary - OAP/Blue Badge Holder - Entitled to vote at a General Meeting, AGM or EGM. Adult Member (Half Year), Adult Member (Half Year) Concessionary - OAP/Blue Badge Holder. Junior Member (Under 16 years of age). Honorary Members.
- Abuse, verbal or otherwise aimed at any Club Official, Committee Member, Bailiff or Member will not be tolerated under any circumstance.
- Any Bailiff, Official or Member of the Committee shall have the authority to be shown fish in any Anglers possession.
- Day Tickets none members are issued Monday to Thursday. 24 Hour Tickets Monday to Wednesday.
- For 24 hour tickets once peg is selected, movement will not be permitted.
- Must be purchased before commencing fishing from cabin or cafe.
- Night Permits are available for Junior Members aged 12 to 16 years. They may be purchased from the day Bailiffs. The permit may be used by the Junior Member only when accompanied by a supervising adult member over the age of 21. The supervising adult is totally responsible for the Junior Member at all times. The Junior Member must fish on a peg adjacent to the supervising adult. If no adjacent peg is available, the Junior can share a peg with the supervising adult but no more than three rods may be used. No Junior Member under the age of 12 years may fish overnight.
- All anglers, especially long stay anglers must ensure that their toiletry requirements are catered for in a way that does not cause any offence or hygiene hazard to any other person.
- Maximum time limit fishing in any peg will be 6 days (5 nights), anglers are not permitted to leave equipment within the peg whilst not fishing for any period exceeding 3 hours, when arriving for a session, an angler may place equipment in a single peg only whilst collecting and transporting their equipment.
- Members must leave the toilet clean at all times.
- No tents allowed.
- Bivvies, additional shelters and all angling equipment must be kept within the confines of stoned pegs provided.
- Fishing the High Bank must only be from the stands provided at the bottom of the steps. All rods, shelters, chairs and any other equipment must be stored on the platform provided, under no circumstance should shelters of any form be erected on the top of the high bank.
- Anglers must not remove or damage bank side vegetation, weed beds etc.
- Fishing is only allowed from designated pegs only (one person).
- Anglers must be in control of their own rods at all times, rods must not be left unattended.
- No braid main line for carp fishing, braided line may be used on Spod and Marker rods.
- Casting and the use of Bait Boats must not interfere with other anglers.
- No fishing past any island by boat or casting.
- Zig rule adjustable zig only with a maximum of 1 meter hook link.
- Use of trigger hooking devices such as "magic twig" are not allowed.
- Use of plastic baits, Foam or Cork Balls of any description is not allowed.
- No fly fishing at any time.
- Carp anglers must be in possession of a recognised Carp Care Kit.
- Fish to be landed by landing nets only, no gaffs to be used. Only one fish to be in a landing net at any time.
- The use of KEEP NETS IS FORBIDDEN.
- All anglers must be in possession of their own adequately sized equipment, this must be unpacked and on show, Anyone fishing for Carp or Pike must have the following equipment. NOTE: ALL ANGLERS MUST BE IN POSSESSION OF A SUITABLE NET & MAT REGARDLESS OF QUARRY
- No fish to be retained for any period, all fish to be unhooked, treated as applicable and any weighing / photographs required conducted immediately and the fish released

Specific Quarry Rules on landing and fish hnadling:
Carp Fishing:- Landing net minimum of a 36inch landing net or predator net
- Beanie style unhooking mat 36” x 24” with a minimum of 2” thickness, or cradle
Pike Fishing:
- Landing net minimum of a 36inch landing net or predator net
- Beanie style unhooking mat 36” x 24” with a minimum of 2” thickness, or cradle
- Side cutters, long nosed cutters, long forceps, wire tracers and reel lines of 15lb (5.5kg) minimum breaking strain.
No sharing or equipment is allowed, if you are unsure of the requirements then speak to a club official
- Any angler may be subject to rig checks at any time by an authorised Member of the Committee or Bailiff.
- No coarse fish of any species to be taken from any Club waters.
- Juniors, strictly NO WADING.
- WADING IS FOR FISH SAFETY ONLY.
- Fires may only be lit during the 1st October to 31st March and must be contained within a purpose built fire box, clear of the ground. Only dead wood may be used, no cutting down of trees etc. Fires must not be left unattended.
- No additional stands to be built without permission of the Committee.
- Nothing to be screwed to stands, stage stands or any other equipment can be screwed to the wood supplied on the side of the platforms.
- No coarse fish of any species to be taken from any Club waters.
- All anglers are requested to protect the Club waters and the property surrounding it.
- Radios if used should not offend other Anglers.
- No flying of drones.
- Dogs must be on a lead at all times, any mess to be removed.
- Footpaths must be clear at all times.
- No cycling around Club waters.
- No firearms of any description to be allowed on site.
- Anglers must NOT walk along the railway track.
- Anyone caught with drugs on any land leased or owned by the Club will be banned and may be reported to the Authorities.
- There may be specific rules or allowances used within club authorised matches, these are at the discretion of the club official organising the match.
- All anglers are requested to protect the Club waters and the property surrounding it.
- The Committee shall have the right to expel from the Club any members for conduct that in their opinion is injurious, or tends to be injurious, to the interest of the Club, or its objects, its members or angling. Before expelling a member(s) the Committee shall inquire into the allegations of misconduct and the member(s) shall be given reasonable opportunity to defend themselves either in writing or by appearing before the Committee, as they choose. The Committee’s power to expel shall be on a majority vote of those present at the inquiry. An expelled member shall forfeit all rights and privileges of membership but shall be liable for any dues or debts to the Club which became payable or were incurred before the date of the expulsion.
- Any member of the Club may make an official complaint in writing to the club secretary
Any new rules will be posted on the notice board.
SPECIAL RULES FOR PIKE FISHING
(LEAVE NO LITTER, OFFENDERS WILL BE BANNED)
- Pike fishing to be October 1st - February 28th (29th in leap years) . MEMBERS ONLY
- Junior members fishing for Pike must be accompanied by a competent adult over the age of 21.
- All anglers must be in possession of their own adequately sized equipment,
- Landing net minimum of a 36inch landing net or predator net
- Beanie style unhooking mat 36” x 24” with a minimum of 2” thickness, or cradle
- Side cutters, long nosed cutters, long forceps, wire tracers and reel lines of 15lb mono (5.5kg) or minimum breaking strain.
No sharing or equipment is allowed, if you are unsure of the requirements then speak to a club official
- All fish to be returned to the water live.
- No live baits over 6' (15cm) to be used.
- No carp, tench or pike to be used as live bait.
- Only fish caught on the water to be used as live bait.
- Live baits must be kept in large bucket.
- Rods must not be left unattended.
- No GAGS allowed.
- Drop shotting only allowed with wire tracers.
Failure to comply to any of the club rules may lead to disciplinary action and expulsion from the club and it’s waters.
